On the other side of the road is another bus stop where they head to Barnes Village, Barnes Rail Station (to get to Clapham Junction, Waterloo and out towards Richmond), Putney, Mortlake, and Richmond. The 72 and 33 are also 24hr buses which run right past the flat.
At Hammersmith Broadway there is the tube (Piccadilly, District, Circle & Hammersmith & City lines) which will get you into the middle of London in 20mins or any local suburbs in 5-10mins (Chiswick, Turnham Green, Stamford Brook, Ravenscourt Park, Barons Court etc… )
